Medical Medium Recipe Challenge – October 18- Creamy Chaga Ice Cream

Posting this a bit late! Better late than never. Since yesterday was Friday, i was in a pretty good mood! We all deserve a yummy breakfast especially on Fridays. Thankful that this one was a winner! I adapted Medical Mediums recipe for “Creamy chaga ice cream” and just changed it up a little. You can find this one over on his recipe blog.

Instead of regular almond or coconut milk I used Silk Dark chocolate almond milk and I topped with raw hazelnuts and shredded coconut instead of his suggestions since I didn’t have those on hand!

Ingredients used: Frozen bananas, almond milk, chaga mushroom powder (vimergy), shredded coconut, raw hazelnuts

Bananas: One of the most nutritional and healing fruits readily available today. They are 76 percent water and full of vitamin C, B6, potassium, copper and manganese. They are a great electrolyte food and good for busy people on the run. They are anti viral and anti fungal . They are a great food choice for those suffering from chronic illness. They are a great food for lowering blood pressure. According to the medical medium ” Bananas should be ripe when eaten which means the peel should be lightly speckled and the fruit has a sweet, creamy taste. Unripe bananas can cause constipation and other adverse reactions”

Chaga Mushroom: According to the Medical Medium ” Chaga is an incredibly powerful medicinal mushroom that is highly sought after due to its phenomenal levels of antioxidants and healing properties. Chaga is rich in Vitamins A, C, B, D, and E and minerals such as manganese, iron, calcium, zinc, and selenium. It also contains potent anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-candida, and anti-parasite properties. 

Chaga is one of the best sources of betulinic acid which is known to kill cancer cells on contact. Good morning!

Woke up craving something sweet – so I turned to The Medical Medium Life Changing Foods book and scoped out the smoothie situation. I landed on the perfect option: “Banana Milkshake” Yes please! Reliving my child hood…without all of the nasty ingredients we used back then lol

This recipe is simple, nourishing and full of amazing potassium and electrolytes to kick off your day in the right direction.

It is commonly used in gum and dental treatments due to its pain relieving and antiseptic properties.

I give this delightful recipe a solid 7 out of 10. I added some ice to cool everything down after the fact…as it was a bit warm for my liking at first. Still a nice healthy sweet treat to start the day!

Tree sit

I sat under this beautiful tree for over 30 minutes. I honestly do this almost daily as I find it quite cathartic and calming. Trees have wisdom and mega healing powers. And best thing of all? It’s free to do.

When I am feeling anxious, anxiety, or getting that urge to binge eat or eat foods that probably won’t make me feel my best – I simply take some deep breaths and remind myself how great I feel after spending some time outside and usually it really does the trick! Try it out!
